Join us for [mo]re than a run, a community movement connecting runners across Aotearoa and Australia to raise funds and awareness for men’s health.

About [mo]re than a run
mo]re than a run (MTAR) is a community-driven fundraising event uniting runners across New Zealand and Australia in support of Movember.
Together, we raise awareness and funds for men’s health, mental health, and suicide prevention - because this is about more than a moustache.

🏃 Distances: 10 km | 30 km | 60 km
Start Times
60 km – 6 am (arrive & check in @ 5:15 am)
Gym workout 1 (arrive & check in @ 7:15 am)
30 km – 9 am (arrive & check in @ 8:15 am)
Gym workout 2 - 9 am (arrive & check in @ 8:45 am)
10 km Walk – 10 am (arrive & check in @ 9:15 am)
10 km Run – 11 am (arrive & check in @ 10:15 am)
Finish: 12pm
Celebration & Raffle: 12:15 pm
What’s On at the Hub
The SWET Gym event hub is the heart of [mo]re than a run Wellington — a place to connect, refuel, recover, and celebrate the incredible efforts of our community.
Here’s what you can expect on the day:
💈 Baycity Studio Barbers & Tattooists – bringing fresh cuts and small tattoos to mark the morning. A big thank you to the Baycity crew for being part of the action.
🎧 DJ Jarvis from Koro Club – setting the tone with great music and good vibes from the early hours through to the finish.
🛍️ LSKD Pop-Up Store – grab some gear, meet the team, and check out exclusive offers from our headline partner.
🧠 Onsite Physio Support – available for pre- and post-run niggles, helping you warm up, cool down, and keep your body in check.
💤 Recovery Hub – reset and recharge post-run with compression gear and recovery tools to help your body bounce back.
🏋️ Gym Challenge & Run Donations – there will be a koha/donation opportunity for anyone taking part in the gym challenge or joining one of the runs. All proceeds go toward Movember and men’s health.
🎟️ Raffles & Giveaways – we’ve got some great prizes and raffles lined up from our event partners, check them out later in this page.
It’s going to be a morning full of energy, movement, and community - we can’t wait to share it with you.

Every action fuels the cause
Routes & Aid Stations
SWET Gym is our home base, all distances start and finish there.
Our routes will work on a out and back basis. You can see these below on Strava.
Aid stations stocked with water, Elyte hydration, and a first aid will be located at key turning points for each route:
5 km for the 10 km (Freyberg Pool)
15 km for the 30 km (Massey Memorial, Shelly Bay)
15 km, 30 km & 45 km for the 60 km (Seaview, Spotlight/SWET, Massey Memorial)
There will be an additional aid station at 10 km (The Needle, Kilbirnie) for the 30 km run

Qualified first aiders will be based at SWET and at each hydration station along the routes.
If an emergency arises, dial 111 and notify the nearest marshal immediately.
Safety & Experience Requirements
For all runners tackling our longer distances.
To ensure everyone’s safety and enjoyment on the day, we ask that participants running the longer distances provide proof of prior endurance experience.
🏃♂️ 30 km runners: must have completed a half marathon (21.1 km).
🏃♀️ 60 km runners: must have completed a marathon (42.2 km).
Proof can be shared via a Strava link, race record, or training log screenshot by clicking the button below, emailing it to MTARWellington@gmail.com, or sending a DM to @mtar_wellington.
These requirements help us make sure all participants are well prepared and able to finish safely within event timings.
